What do we do?
Enable Disability Driving School are a team of driving instructors who specialise in training pupils of all abilities with a keen focus on inclusive learning, including teaching and learning of individuals with additional learning, physical and emotional needs. While promoting common standards and good practice. We offer training and education for both theory and practical driving skills, Whilst working closely with associated national bodies. These include The Department of Transport, The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), The Motability Foundation, The AA, as well as the NHS and Astley Ainslie Hospital.
Who do we offer advice and assessment to?
- People of all skill levels and abilities
- People with a medical condition that may impact their driving ability, decision making skills or reaction times
- People with a disability, who feel they may require special modifications to a vehicle to ensure safe control of the vehicle.
- Experienced, older, drivers who may have concerns regarding their standards of driving and / or reaction speeds.
- Parents / carers needing to transport individuals, (including children)) with restricted mobility
- People wishing to either learn to drive, or return to driving following injury or illness - whether temporary or long term.
What do we offer?
Full Driver Training, Assessment and advice:
- Full driver training for all abilities from complete novice to full license holder
- Adaptations to overcome physical disabilities which may impact vehicle control
- Assessment and advice with regard to your current ability to drive safely
- Training on adaptive controlled vehicles either in your own vehicle or in our adapted vehicle, appropriate to your own individual needs.
